While doing undercover work in a mental hospital, Emanuelle discovers a girl who seems to have been raised by a tribe of amazonian cannibals. Intrigued, Emanuelle and friends travel deep into the Amazon jungle, where they find that the supposedly extinct tribe of cannibals is still very much alive, and Emanuelle and her party are not welcome visitors...

Questo film ,oltre agli abituali elementi erotici che caratterizzano i suoi quattro predecessori, ingloba per l'occasione anche il tema cannibalesco, che aveva decretato il successo del film di Deodato ULTIMO MONDO CANNIBALE , uscito nelle sale qualche mesetto prima. La pellicola purtroppo evidenzia una mole tale di pecche da risultare veramente irritante e privo di mordente. Le sequenze horror soffrono di effetti speciali mediocri e comunque non all'altezza di un film sanguinoso che si rispetti ma ciò che disturba maggiormente sono i troppi momenti erotici : tantissime scene gratuite di accoppiamenti vari, insistiti primissimi piani su organi femminili, la sequenza assurdamente extra-contestuale di Nieves Navarro che cornifica il marito(guardone?) con un nerboruto mandingo locale....Anche la silhouette affusolata dell'esotica Laura Gemser non riesce a risollevare le sorti di un prodotto così inutilmente inclinato sul versante porno-soft. D'Amato gira discretamente ma questo è uno dei suoi film meno riusciti : sconclusionato, stancante, prevedibile ed alquanto volgare !.. |

Two Austrian sisters Dagmar and Ursula Beyne go on holiday along the Amalfi coast in Italy, in the hope of finding their mother, who deserted them when they were young, they have recently inherited some money after the death of their father and want to share some of it with their mother. Ursula is quite a fragile girl though and on medication ever since the loss of her father. She also is somewhat telepathic and can foresee bad events in an instant. They book into a local hotel where Ursula's visions continue, she tells Dagmar her sister to stay clear of Filippo, a man who hangs out in the hotel bar as she says he will cause her death. Filippo is a heroin addict whose lover "Stella Shining" is the night club singer at the hotel, but that relationship is soon in trouble and Filippo makes his move on Dagmar. Meanwhile a masked and leather gloved man hires a local hooker, he wants to be a voyeur while she makes love to another man, she agrees and he hides behind the curtains in her room to watch the proceedings. When the deed is done the stranger savagely kills the hooker. Ursula wakes from her sleep with a scream, as she has felt that something bad has happened, she pleads with Dagmar that they should leave this place before its too late, but they disagree and stay. A young amorous teenage couple are turned away from the hotel and make their bed in a deserted part of the hotel, mid coitus they are interrupted by the killer, who slashes the boys throat before doing heinous acts on the girl. The shocking murders continue in abundance as the frantic search for the killer continues... The Italian giallo eventually suffered a lingering, painful death, merging with the inferior American slasher movies in the 1980's and the vastly inferior American "erotic thrillers" in the 1990's (with which today it is virtually indistinguishable). It was clear though that the rot had set in as early as the late 70's with films like "Play Motel" or this one where the sex and nudity that had always been used to season the genre seemed to become its very reason for being... Giallo extremadamente erótico y macabro sobre dos hermanas austríacas, Dagmar y Ursula Beyne, que se van a la costa italiana de vacaciones con la intención de encontrar a su madre que desapareció cuando eran jóvenes. Acaban de heredar de su padre y quieren compartir el dinero con su madre. Ursula es una joven frágil y que se medica desde la muerte de su padre. Tiene una especie de telepatía que puede ver las cosas malas que pasan. Se alojan en un hotel local donde las visiones de Ursula continúan. Una serie de extraños asesinatos ocurren en el hotel y sus alrededores cometidos por alguien enmascarado y con guantes negros y de tendencias voyeur, ya que todos sus crimenes se cometen tras el acto sexual de sus victimas…Con todos los clichés del giallo más el añadido de elevadisimas dosis de desnudos y sexo, además de una trama macabra hacen que sea una muy entretenida peli, de bonita foografía, que puede satisfacer tanto a los que les guste el giallo como el eurotrash más enfermo, como por ejemplo títulos del estilo de Giallo a Venezia o Play Motel. In 1969, a torrid book called Naked Came the Stranger hit the bestseller charts and joined the ranks of tawdry potboilers from the likes of Harold Robbins and Sidney Sheldon. However, the difference here is that the entire book turned out to be a gag; the author, "Penelope Ashe," was a pseudonym concoted by a group of writers for Newsday who each took a turn writing one chapter. Flash forward six years, when veteran softcore director Radley Metzger was looking for a second project to follow up the original story, The Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann, which proved to be his first completely hardcore venture under the name "Henry Paris." Returning to the literary roots of his European erotica films, Metzger latched onto the novelized hoax and tweaked it into another of his urbane, visually stylish studies in the human libido. Fortunately it also turned out to be one of his funniest films, a bubbly and fast-paced trifle that plays like Ernst Lubitsch after a hit of Ecstasy...

"Tortured Females" is one of few surviving films distributed by super-cheap Mitam Productions, which was essentially like a west coast version of New York City's Distribpix. It's also the most entertaining feature on this disc. While there are a few too many striptease acts substituted for torture (shades of Steve Apostolof's ORGY OF THE DEAD), this is a fantastically kooky unearthed treasure. In the style of Dale Berry's films, dialogue is spoken while the actors don't move their mouths, there is lots of rugged outdoor photography, and a dimly lit house is made up to look like an unconvincing dungeon. In the most demented plot point, the naked bloody girls are tended to by (swear to God) a mutated Mongolian hunchback who speaks in sped-up Chipmunk-sound chattering! He feeds the girls like dogs, relishes being whipped by Mr. Big and has to bury the dead captives in shallow graves when they croak from too much torture. Despite the film appearing to be cut (a lesbian rape seems to be missing), this is a perverse journey well worth taking...
An Introduction text, read out aloud, invokes the children story of the Little Red Riding Hood - so that the young maidens in this story are viewed as the innocent child, and Mr. Big and his friends as the big bad wolf... Unaware of the local Hooded Strangler lurking around her door, poor "Helen Doe" decides to visit her aunt but, instead, winds up at the "House of Horror on the hill." There, she and six other Tortured Females are held by white slavers and persuaded to accept "a glamorous life of easy virtue" through beatings, whippings, and being forced to watch go-go dancers (?!). Worse, adding to the madness is nothing less than -- are you ready? -- "a half-witted, monkey-chattering, Mongolian hunchback."
