"Три крроны для моряка" Рауля Руиса относится к категории фильмов, которые можно пересматривать множество раз и все время находить для себя, что то новое. В кинокартинах Рауля Руиса индивидуальная структура личности является множеством независимых от нее самой психических состояний, не имеющих между собой ничего общего и находящихся в постоянном становлении вне ее. Именно их и должно согласно автору изображать кино. Поэтому в фильмах Руиса нельзя искать связного сюжета и проходящих через него четко очерченных героев. Они оставляют впечатление переливающихся из одного в другой сюрреалистических эпизодов со сменяющими персонажами...
At first the complexities and densities and confusions may be off-putting but ride with the movie. The eerie atmosphere, strangeness of everything that happens is in itself fascinating. You will begin understanding the film on an intuitive level as you go along and by the ending it will all start making sense - not a 'shock surprise ending' but an ending that will give you a deep shudder of horror. Made on an astonishingly small budget, the film is more effective than any number of Hollywood computerized-trash blockbusters. The cinematography by the great Sacha Vierny is full of marvelous effects - the film switches between a haunting black and white (reminiscent of Vierny's Hiroshima Mon Amour) to ravishing color. The ghost world which is the world of color in the film feels like (as the director himself says in the commentary) "a siesta nightmare"...
